I think that the reason you haven't received any replies so far is that those conditions can put a stop to many activities. I have hallux rigidus and have had to give up rock climbing as the tight shoes hurt way too much and also had to give up running. I think what brought the condition on was way too many years running and the toes gave out before any thing else did.
Thankfully mountaineering is still on the list of things to do as the boots are stiff and once in them I get no pain. I've also had to switch to a lighter pair of mountaineering boots just to go backpacking. For everyday shoes I look for ones with room in the toe box. To stay in shape without running I go to the gym and use the elliptical and that plus hiking/backpacking keeps me in shape for mountaineering. I also take turmeric daily (better in the long run that NSAIDs) and I believe it helps. So its just been a matter of adjusting what I like to do and I'm very happy mountaineering is still on the list!
The Nadurra is one that I always add a wee bit of water to to cut the harshness and the flavour still comes through.
Had a great tour of the Oban distillery once, everyone even my young boys got a good sized dram and needless to say I had to have theirs.
My letter has been sent. Thanks for the various references and samples. Going through the WA gov website you can send the same letter and signify opposition to the bill to all of your representatives -its easy.

Does anyone have the links to the PMR and MRNP writeups handy and any others about why they don't recommend PLBs so it can be included in a letter to my legislator?
