  1. . . . I need to move back to Bozeman. Nice work.
  2. Sweet, I'm game. Also, anyone want to get out this week/weekend? I need some ice, alpine, something.
  3. Anyone going from PDX around the 3rd or 4th until the 7th or 8th? I'm looking for a ride. I can also drive if anyone needs a ride.
  4. Hey, I'm relatively new to PDX and never been to Rocky Butte. Although, I've heard about it... Anyways, I can deal with broken glass and bad rock if it means dry tooling in town! What's the story?
  5. This jacket it's maybe a month or two old, and I've only worn it around town a handful of times. It's a great shell. The only problem for me is the way Patagonia jackets fit, either way too big or too small, never just right. It's the green color. $150 and it's yours. http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/product/product_focus.jsp?OPTION=PRODUCT_FOCUS_DISPLAY_HANDLER&catcode=SPORTS_FA_US.SPORTS_WE_LOVE.CLIMBING.MENS.JACKETS&style_color=83130-684&ws=
  6. Anyone interested in a single BD Reactor? Its former counter-part was eaten by an ice flow and has been somewhere behind it for almost a year now. Since I managed to score a pair of cobras this fall, cash is more useful than a lonely ice tool. I bought it last fall a month or two before heading south of the border for the winter. So, it saw some use, maybe 15 times out?
  7. Any advice for finding a bilingual job in Portland?
  8. The front antibott plates on the cyborg's can't be used when set up as mono-points. It appears that the antibotts can be used in any configuration on the G14's. I believe the G14's are also lighter, but you pay for it.
  9. I used to climb with sabertooths and started climbing on mono-cyborgs this fall. As far as I'm concerned, the verticals are way better for steep ice. The mono/vertical points penetrate better and easier. You can be much more precise as well as gentle on delicate ice. I find myself barely kicking the ice. Sabertooths felt a bit insecure on steep or technical ice, but for super fat or lower angle ice I'd rather climb with them. Just my two.
  10. Yeah, I know Cody is having epic conditions, but I'm not in Bozeman right now. I'm stuck in South Dakota. I'm going there because I have a ride, a free place to stay, and nothing better to do. I'd rather swing my tools than waste money skiing, and it's my last chance to get out on the ice anywhere this year. I'm off to Central America for six months next Friday. Plus, the pictures I've seen of the fang look incredible. Must climb...
  11. I'm going to be in Vail the 30th-1st climbing. I've never climbed there. Does anyone know what the conditions are like right now or where I can find out? Is avy danger an issue? I've checked out mountain project, but any further info would be sweet. Also, I know it's a long ways from the NW, but anyone going to be down there and interested in getting out? I want to send the fang if it's in.
  12. I'll pay the shipping for the crampons.
  13. Men's size M, Cloudveil Black Ice Jacket, black. It is a Schoeller soft shell. The jacket is in great shape and retails for $299. I love this jacket. I just need to get rid of some stuff, as I'm headed for warmer weather for the winter. $120 obo
  14. Axe is sold. Buy the crampons, please! I need to pay for my new cyborgs!

  16. want a pair of sabertooths?
  17. I have a 70 cm BD Raven Pro axe, a 36" Omega Pacific snow picket, and BD Sabertooth crampons with AB plates. The axe and picket were only used once about four years ago and have been collecting dust since. They are in perfect condition with only a few minor cosmetic scratches. $15 for the picket? $75 for the axe? The sabertooths are about four years old, and have had moderate ice climbing use. They have plenty of life left in them. $100 for the sabertooths?
  18. Hey, thanks for the info. I actually just picked up the reactors today. I've used them before, and I dig them. I guess I can't go wrong with a sure thing. I'm going to go swing them tomorrow!
  19. One set of tools for now, and I don't plan on pounding any pins in the near future.
  20. Yeah, the ice fest is good for the demos, but it's a ways away and expensive. I'm getting a bit anxious to get out, hopefully, this weekend. I'll be out of the country in January, so my season will be short this year. My only initial interest in the x monsters is the cheap factor. I could replace my old tools w/o any extra expense. It's just been hard to find any info about them. Thanks for the help.
