yeah. fagschool is obviously funnier. Maybe there should be a site for 15 year olds pretending to be hardcore climbers.

griz, dude, I wasn't being sarcastic. Someone with your obvious qualifications shouldn't hold back. And "artfag"? Come on, again you're not really trying are you.
-
Not enough chest beating griz.

Isn't that a Tracy Chapman song?

I apologize for starting what appears to be a spray thread related to people's deaths.

I for one am very thankful dru is here to clear this sort of thing up and to help us maintain a proper perspective. My thoughts go out to all the families and friends of the climbers.

This looks like the Scott South Pole expedition. Scott didn't use skis. He should've though, Amundsen did and got there first. Skis rule, ponies don't.

archenema says give Henry Rollins a try. I was thinking sandwich...but Henry Rollins is pretty cool.

So which is it pp? Do you demonstrate "confirmatory bias" or are you "filtering" when you see, hear, and read biased media reporting?

So true! All I have to do is hold hands with mouth-breathing trust funders and tell them their "art" transcends beauty and money just shows up in my bank account twice a month. It's not really work.
-
Well, that sounds like a good place to work. But I don't.

That's really good. Can I use that as my new signature? Oh wait! Am I supposed to get all angry and make some derogatory comment about yoda or something? (I'm kind of new at this and the 80 points of I.Q. definitely applies)

Are you implying that the current U.S. strategy to combat terror is working? And to suggest a debate of this strategy is clown-like behavior?

Hyper-nationalism, huge military, disdain for human rights, mass media control, national security paranoia, corporate power unleashed at the expense of organized labor, disdain for science and the arts, election fraud....hmmm has this thread drifted into a discussion of Germany and Italy in the 30's? No. I wonder if PP wears brown shirts? Flame on.

The first Civil Rights act was pushed and passed by the Republican party. Assuming you mean the civil rights act of 1866, you really believe Lincoln's Republican party is the same as bush's political party?

I don't think the sport/doping thing is going to be reconciled in our lifetimes and certainly not in this forum so I have nothing to add. On a side note though I think this flippant attitude toward his fight against cancer and what it did to his body is petty. What is your experience with cancer dru? And why are you so angry? -
I wonder if our children have the same opinion about this? Adults can get over a loss, children suffer a little more I'd say. That's a good question. Climbing is something I do for myself so I guess, by definition, that makes it selfish. If children are part of my life, I'm no longer just risking life and limb but part of my children's support network, and all that entails, as well. Hmm. Kinda makes all the risk assessment and evaluation a little more complicated.

Agreed. Jim really helped me with a pair of boots that turned out to not fit as great as I thought when I was in the store.
