what about having to cross the reid solo this time of the year? Went over it in early march without much concern but decided this morning in the tline parking lot not to go there for fear of finding a crevasse. It seems to be a popular rescue site this year. How late in the season could you "reasonably" do the Leutholds solo?

Climbed route today. Left parking lot at 1am and had a firm crust up to the hogsback. Worst part is that they have driven the snow cats the entire width of the Palmer and when it freezes at night, makes for a not so fun walk. Look for areas they haven't plowed. Climbers path still goes directly over the schrund. Enjoyed an hour alone on the summit waiting for the sunrise. Crust still solid but softening quickly as I descended. Back at car by 7am. Great time to be up on the mountain. Enjoy.

The Loup is better than you would expect. Spent six years in the Methow Valley in late eighties and skied there a lot. Only about 1000 vertical but it was never crowded. Very friendly people as I remember.
