  1. A first season climber here in Bozeman. I assume the Ice Guide in question is "Winter Dance" by Josephson. I've found that guide to be essential to any weekend in Hyalite. An awesome all around book.

Guess again. The book that everyone is referring to is "Waterfall Ice: Ice Climbs in the Canadian Rockies" by Mr. Josephson.

Took a year and stilll I've got a 22 mile commute, and I'd hardly call it "stable".

It's got to be stable enough for you to spray all freaking day.

In the keys?!? If you like 60+ year old cougars hellno3d.gif, then you should have plenty of opportunities. Good luck.

  3. The reverso is the way to go. The only problem is that I find its hard to give one person slack while keeping the other person tight. Minor issue.

Not a big issue at all with practice.

So what's the technique here? I've always found it a little difficult to give a single follower slack with a reverso in auto-lock mode. With one person hanging and another climbing I just assumed it would be near impossible to pay out slack.
