  1. Well, it seems that ML is voting in accordance with the GOP majority is favoring Huckleberry with McCaine 2d followed closely by Ron Paul with the Mittster close i.e. about 60% of the elephants against their picked target. I agree that it would be a violation of ML went to a D. caucus then voted in the GOP primary and people were urged to not do this both on legal and ethical reasons.

This is the oath:Republican: I declare that I am a member of the Republican party and I have not participated and will not participate in the 2008 precinct caucus or convention system of any other party.

As long as she can say she was a member of the republican party at the time of the oath it is OK legally morally it is another question. Note you do not need to pay money contribute or do any affirmative action to be a member in WA although other states may differ.

    Note bold above and below.

I did not attend any caucus today, nor will I be a delegate to the Democratic (or Republican) convention. My vote breaks no laws.

I am fine with being considered a Republican if it helps to get a losing candidate selected by the republicans.

Ironic that the party of cheating cheaters and lying liars might attempt to ever take the moral high ground. You guys are funny!

  2. But do you think it is morally right for partisans (like Maylou) to corrupt the nominating process--Dem or Rep--of the other party?

    Only silence from Ms. Lou...

Meanwhile, I will forward her name, along with her stated desire here to perjur herself, to my local party chair. Her choice in the primary is public record and failure to uphold her oath is (perhaps?) actionable.

Maylou: I encourage you to vote with your party.

I am voting REPUBLICAN in the primary. My voter information and history are available online if you need further information on me and know where to look. Note that my marriage and name change shows a gap in voting history, if you're a stickler for such things.

Since I was not involved in the caucuses and will only vote for one (republican) candidate in the primary, I encourage you to lodge your complaint. Since what I am doing is entirely legal, it will only waste your party's limited time and resources to pursue your frivolous claim.

I love it when people like you waste resources of your party on this, so get busy.

  3. Do you understand that by voting for a member of a party you don't support in the primary, you are violating a signed oath? Is that important to you? Please--pick a party in the primary and uphold your oath. And grow up.

No, genius, you have to agree not to participate in the other party's nominating process in order to vote. For one election cycle only. Since I was unable to attend the caucuses, it's completely within my rights to vote for anyone from either party in the Primary.

    De oaf:

Republican: I declare that I am a member of the Republican party and I have not participated and will not participate in the 2008 precinct caucus or convention system of any other party.
  4. The great thing about the semi-bogus primary system is that those of us who couldn't go caucus (hadda work!) have a second chance on Tuesday.

Go to your primary and vote for Huckabee.

Hey how do you think the Rs ended up with Ellen Craswell as their candidate for governor some years ago? I have a feeling I wasn't the only Democrat willing to "help" pick a candidate we could crush in the General.

  5. Hilary is not electable because Amerians are not going to put up with another Clinton or Bush. We are now at 20 years of these two families controlling our government. NO MORE. It won't happen again. The names of Clinton and Bush are to closely associated.

Haha, yeah the eight years of peace and prosperity under Bill Clinton was tough on the American psyche. Great argument.

  6. Still a horse race for both parties.

I think if the Rs put up McCain, he will beat H. Clinton but Obama could beat him.

I think if the Rs put up Romney or Huckabee it's all going to come down to how many Evangelicals show up to vote.

It's such a crap job at the moment I wonder why so may people ran, and I think it won't be the end of the world if we get another R president as the next four years at least are going to be about cleaning up the mess the previous administration is leaving behind.

  7. ...

I slept 15 hours last night, and I'm only awake to get some stuff mailed home and get on the plane.

    ...

Also, I can't really write or speak in complete sentences yet.

    ...

This tradeshow involved me breaking a guy's nose (he literally begged for it, details to follow), my employee going into anaphylaxis when I was giving the pitch to Paul Fish of MGear (who is probably still wondering where I went / why I suddenly disappeared) and a host of other strange and interesting events.

Dayum, the last time I hung out with Graham in SLC we went to the movies and I think had dinner.

Looks like I picked the wrong OR show to skip....!

  8. I didn't think he'd be with us all that long, he's at a completely different level.

I worked a little show of E. European music up in the Recital Hall last year and had the chance to see this kid play to an audience of about 20 people. It was memorable, to say the least.

  9. I think what she meant was that paying off debt - such as a credit card, will not do much compared to buying some consumer item. Look at it this way. If you pay cash now for a washing machine that's much more a stimulus than if you're going to take your rebate to pay off the credit card you used to buy a washing machine 5 months ago. Frankly the credit card company would prefer you didn't pay it off so they earn intrest. What it would do, supposedly, is then have that money that would be going for interest down the road available to purchase some other tshatshke.

Correct. Didn't think I needed to write that all out in longhand, but it appears I was mistaken.

  10. I have a Giro that is just fine, but i have to say that unless I'm skiing with kids (who are generally expected to wear them by their parents) that I don't bother with it. Feck may have to take extra care not to hit his noggin, but for adults with normal noggins, it just seems like another piece of gear to haul around and keep track of to me.
