I'll tell you what extreme alpinism is: Climbing Mt. Adams car-to-car in 15 hours with nothing but blue jeans and a tshirt and only summer sausage and gatorade to drink.

is there any good climbing at cascade crags

I don't know if these guys know what they are talking about but it is a jungle climbing up the snow creek trail. We found lots of logs across the trail up there just a few weeks ago.
