    33. Lower-back tattooes. Lately, it seems that if there's no faux-Celtic design between your low-rise jeans and your baby tee, something's missing. Recently, we've been seeing girls with their names in thug font in that place. Must save a lot of awkwardness.

"Unfortunately, some route names were better left abbrevaited due to their possibly offensive nature. The complete route names can be found in the first ascent information for those of you who are interested. Abbreviated names are denoted with the symbol 8< after the shortened route name. For example: Tammy Fay's D8<."

Too bad Tammy Fay (the climb) is gone.

Why was Chinamans Peak in Canada renamed Ha Ling Peak?

Notice the tension I carefully built with only four simple punctuation marks. Also notice how I refered to them as "punctuation marks", rather than the utilize the barbarian "period" synonym.

The ellipsis should also have spaces preceding and following.

Bolted cracks are generally a bad thing and we need to make much more of an issue of this; we should try to correct the situation by, perhaps, removing bolts next to cracks at any "trad" climbing area (there may be exceptions); It may be OK to have a few bolted cracks in a sport climbing area.

What is the Icicle considered, then? My party climbed several routes in the Icicle this past weekend that were an absolute tragedy, with closely spaced bolts protecting what would be very reasonalbe trad or mixed routes.

Case in point, the 5.8 route at Stone's Throw. The 5.9 would go on gear too, or at least mixed after the first two bolts.

(Crackbolter's post seemed to have disappeared.)

Why should there be any bolted, protectable cracks?

It seems that you were in need of a little history lesson plus some exposure to a perspective with which you might not have been familiar.

Yup, I certainly haven't been exposed to your perspective! You need to be more outspoken, Dwayner. rolleyes.gif

    Dwayner sez:

Your words, not mine. That kind of attitude won't take you far but I assume you are just joking.

Too many people have that attitude, apparently including your buddy Dope, uh, Pope. pitty.gif

    Dwayner also sez:

    Good luck, dude!

    With what?.....dude. rolleyes.gifmoon.gif

The adults are trying to have a discussion here. You two please run outside and play.

I'm telling you, schoeller has been around since saturday night fever, travolta's pants are fine alpine threads

I'm waiting to buy a matching white schoeller jacket to go over a black polypro shirt and complete the ice cream suit look.

I'd been told that the Gust has the same problem as the Andinista. Namely that if you filled it then it would be too heavy to carry with any comfort. Don't GoLite say it's really only good for 30lbs or so (if not then I read this in a review elsewhere).

True. The GoLite is rated only for up to 30 lbs. And by the looks, it probably wouldn't reliably carry twice that comfortably.

But if your load is only 30 lbs, why carry it in a 4-6 lb pack? The difference is about 10% of the weight on your back, or 1-2 days more food.
