I have heard that the Louis Farrakhan "Nation of Islam" Muslims, are not considered proper Muslims by the Sunnis and Shiities and whatever.
To my knowledge, the Nation of Islam is a group. Islam is a religion. These two are mutually exclusive; it's unclear how adherent the NOI is to true Islam. I think it was founded in order to give young American blacks an identity when there was none. That's why I joined.

I've heard about a lost guy up in the Enchantments and a rescue that is on-going but don't have any details. Anyone? He apparently has been out about 10 days. All this is sketch info, so please fill in.

Catbirdseat, what are you willing to sacrifice in the way of access? What sort of construction traffic are we talking about here on a less than optimum road? First off, I'm sure that road will have to be rebuilt to handle the traffic of loaded T & T's full of rock as they excavate. Further, what about environmental (including noise) impacts to the area? Diesel clouds from aforementioned trucks? And on and on. Believe me, us construction workers make a big fucking mess every chance we get.

Gee, CBS, whatever will we do? This sounds like irrational panic-speak, if I've ever heard it. I'm sure there are other sites; ones not in a wilderness. Continue what work? Is it so critical to National Security that we must accept destroying that valley and the access and the beauty, etc.? Besides, if researchers from UW go to Canada to do their research, they will still return to UW to complete their work, write-ups, and publication, just by nature of their grants.

Oh, I don't think so. We talk fatalities into the ground, think what could be done with a simple injury. And to a child, no less. The liberals will launch into how John Kerry would have prevented the injury with groundbreaking legislation that will protect our children. Conservatives will rejoinder that such governmental intrusion is unconstitutional and would never happen with George W. Bush at the helm. Since he is at the helm now, he has scheduled a visit to the injury site and has commissioned John Ashcroft to investigate the ability to ban public access to "sticks" under the Patriot Act. I will go on to mention that, before stepping down, Charlton Heston instituted an education program to teach young children the dangers of "sticks" and what one should do when they encounter a "stick" (of course this is all funded by the NRA and IS a 2nd Amendment issue). And it could go on, and on, and on, and on....

Stupid parents suck. Control your children, dammit; don't make me do it. I'm with Bug in that it frosts my ass when some lazy fucking parent doesn't discipline their child. If you make the choice to squeeze out puppies, don't make them a burden on the rest of us.
Flame me, I don't fucking care. You're the one who made the lifestyle choice - don't make other people responsible for it. Kids are like dogs, they both need good discipline and then everybody's happy.
