I really deisagree wholeheartedly. The military and the police have been holding their own and have conducted some relatively complicated maneuvers with minimal guidance from the americans. Many ops are being completed wholy free of US guidance. I would like to hear any evidence that you have to suggest that the Iraqis are not "taking the ball." They are facing death threats and actual death daily in choosing to serve their country and for that I applaud them.

I'd rather take a chance on a newcomer than stay with the proven failures of the existing pres. That is not the question mouse. Such a tired diatribe to fall back upon the same tired monologue sang in unison by the members of the church of democrats. GWB is not McCain anymore than Obama is JFK. I know it hurts, but it is hte truth. First step is acceptance.
  3. Yeah. We see that this system is too not without its faults. Remember a certain oil company who was headed by a personal and professional enemy of Putin? Hmmm... as with everything moderation is the key.
  4. Vlad is just like:Robin Hood! ...right. Wonder what Anna Politikovskaya thinks about that.

I really believe that Obama has no real idea what he is going to do to get out of Iraq. It isn't as simple as "yer all going home!" It seems like a lot of his policies are like that. He is like the guy running for class president that states, "we will have one friday off every week and free soda from the ending machines!" Nice ideas, but I would like to see how he plans to impliment them. If anyone can point me in the direction of some of his ideas, I would appreciate it.

You mean the surge that is already in place and working?

Agreed. The last thing we want to do is to make permanent bases over there. In theory, having a force with QRF capacities would be great. But on the other hand, I feel that it would be so insigatory that any benefeit of a QRF would be lost by the increase in violence. Pulling out prematurely would just ensure that we we back. Going back a second (er third ) time would almost guarantee permanent bases there to "ensure stability in the region." As in everything else, moderation is the key here. Unfortunately, I don't think that we will find it in either candidates. Lesser of two evils, take 4,465,687.
  9. Damn. I could never do that. I have a 6'10" arm span. Freaking cool though.
  10. How many dick punchers can you do douche bag?

Yet CNN states that there is "rising sectarian violence." but even Obama states that there is dramatically less violence.
  13. 185, 187, 191 shooting for 200.
  14. Jesus! I haven't been that weight since I was 12!
  15. What's worth a walk in "the woods around Marblemount"? And if there's all that iniquity, why not just stay away? Sounds like you're hoping for an armed confrontation. I'd go out of my way to avoid unholstering my pistol. Because I lived there ace. Not all of us view the mountains as places to get away. Some of us live there.
  16. Well no fucking shit!

  18. I am not afraid not to. It is a conscious decision to prepare myself for unexpected circumstances. I think you are all pussies for bringing lighters with you on your glorified camping trips. All it takes is one run-in with a crack-head and you might change your tune. When a 120 lb kids takes a pistol whip in the head from you and gets back up and charges you, you might think twice about arming yourself in these places that are teeming with meth-shacks. I used to live on the border of a national recreational area, wilderness and antional park. These places are teeming with crack heads that will own your ass. Plus, nothin says "howdy" on the trailhead like a nice shiny big-bore revolver. What, ARE YOU CRACKERS? NPS parks are some of the safest places around. maybe if you're a flipping rodent! obviously you haven't seen the meth lab in camp muir. Funny. You guys walking around on trails all the time might have never run into this kinda thing. Go around Marblemount and take a walk into the woods. You will see what I mean. There is some bad shit out there.
  19. Yep. I think a lot of it has to do with the bi-partisan system. We are supposed to pick between two parties that are, quite frankly, crap. It has super polarized us and crossing party lines on even one issue is tantamount to an abomination. I think if people would honestly take a look at it from a distance without religion, it would be alot more clear what the right thing to do was. I am religious. Don't get me wrong, but I know for a fact that gay bashing is not WJWD.
  20. I am concservative on most issues and even I am all for letting them do what they want. We are no better than the Taliban if we start saying that people of other beliefs, genders, orientations cannot enjoy the same freedoms and rights as all Americans. For whatever reason, they love each other. Who are we to deny them something that makes them happy. Kinda goes in with that whole "right to pursue happiness." I am all for letting them pursue happiness as long as it does not interfere with mine. "Your right to swing your fist ends at my nose."

  22. From the reference, I thought it was gonna be a cannon that propelled bull shit. At least they would have had a lot of ammo.
