  1. Come on down and bring your friends. At the very least it is worth taking a look at the ENORMOUS mastodon on the roof of the shop. This thing is truly of paleolithic proportions.
  2. The show is tonight! Oh yeah, did we mention it was free?
  3. NOLSe, we don't have any printed material on the Rap Wall, but a couple folks on staff have been there several times and would be happy to share info with you. Stop on by and ask for Nick (another NOLSie) or Jeff. Don't wait too long, though, since Nick is leaving for a WMT in the Winds next week and Jeff is headed to the Michigan Alps to put up some sick new routes.
  4. The dust has cleared and we're ready to open up the new side of the shop. Come down, check it out and save on a bunch of great gear. Also find the schedule for some incredible shows and clinics throughout the month of June on our website. www.featheredfriends.com
  5. I was just taking a peek at all the stuff for the raffle - ya'll better not miss this one!
  6. The normal ones came in today. Offsets are on the way.
  7. Bunch o' blues, greens, yellows, reds and greys just rolled in. Get 'em before their all gone and you have to wait another 5 months for more.
  8. This was going to go in the Events Forum, but since new posts to that forume seem to be disabled, this announcement is going here since the date is approaching rapidly and several CC readers might be interested in the event. Mike Gauthier is presenting a slideshow this Wednesday at 8pm at the Feathered Friends retail store, 119 Yale Ave N, 98109. Mike will also be signing copies of his new Rainier guidebook. As usual, Feathered Friends will be serving your favorite refreshment prior to the show. Tickets are $6, on sale at Feathered Friends. Seating is limited, so don't wait too long to pick up tickets. You may buy tickets over the phone by calling 206 292 2210. May 18 Wednesday Happy hour starts at 7 Show starts at 8 Link to poster of Gauthier show
  9. Dustin, I think your concerns about weight discrepancies may be moot in this case. I just weighed a 6'0" Epic 800+ fill Swift, and it tipped the scale at 2lb 4oz, which is one ounce more than our advertised weight. This is within 3% of the advertised weight, which is probably a reasonable margin of error. Being 5oz off on the Ibis seems a bit strange, so I wonder if there is something else going on with your bag. There are plenty of possible reasons why there is a discrepancy. If weight savings are important to you, I suggest you consider a Hummingbird or a Swallow, both of which are lighter bags at 20 degrees. By contrast, a 6'0" Epic half-zip Hummingbird weighed 1lb 13oz on the scale this morning. That is pretty light for a bag of this warmth with the moisture protection of the Epic shell. If you chose a Hummingbird with Pertex Quantum, the total weight would be a good bit less, since the weight/yard of the two fabrics are 1.8oz and 0.9oz respectively. And Quantum is nowhere nearly as water resistant as Epic. So I suggest you decide which performance attribute you care more about- weight savings with low bulk versus water resistance with higher durability- and base your choice on this. Either way, one of our 20 degree bags will be light and compact. Other features of the Feathered Friends bags which distinguish them from WM include the tuck stitch construction, which is cleaner and more durable than top stitch, the wider range of fabric and color choices, and all the custom options that are too numerous to list here. Come on by to chat or give us a call if you have any other questions. Cheers- Feathered Friends

  11. At Feathered Friends. Be there or be square.
  12. Bummer about your hood, and ditto for the customer service. Call us at the shop and we can give you a phone number to someone who will treat you right. As for the hood fit on your Beta AR, the one we have in the shop does not exhibit the sine wave brim effect. Neither do any of the other recent Arc' arrivals. You may just have an unusually understiffened brim. This sounds like a warranty issue. Good luck.
