  1. Thanks to Colin I have the Ice Axe. used compass and glacier glasses still needed . Looking at this 18 year old climbimg machine I realized that I better stick to the D.C. / Emmons routes( aka Fat old guy routes) Dude must weigh 140 lbs.( all muscle) easy Trask .

  2. Granted there are differences in conditions year to year. As a guide as to what is good at certain times of year. Mt. Rainier " A climbing guide" by Mike G. is a good thing to look over before . It will tell you lots of good stuff. I continue to read it when I have nothing better to do. I am a bit of a freak however.

  3. WOW THEY GAVE ME ONE ......alert the choppers shocked.gif Seriously , it was a pleasure dealing with Hardesty ( Climbing ranger) Nice folks up there. Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction

  4. Well it has been a week and no reply . I even e mailed them yesterday to see what was up . If I had possibly missed their call or what.I tried it your way fellas if I don't hear from them by Wed/ Thr it is back to the low crawl past the Ranger hut at mid fruit.gifnight

  5. I detect a little disrespect for the late July D.C. experience. You will be able to move freely it isn't that bad. With the waist high ( in some places) boot track I liken it to adventure in a controlled environment. I have left muir by 11pm and got to the top by sunrise with time to spare. The only hassle was making way for the others on their way up while I was coming back down. It will be hot and miserable also so go neked with a little fleece over the weiner.
