  1. Riddle solved. Posts in that thread were apparently made by the person who had replaced me, at my former computer which had "saved" my screen name and password. A reminder about what information you leave lying around. I'll never gripe about being given free gear, no matter what it "says" on it. Would I rather advertise for TNF, Mtn. Hardware, etc...?
  2. Jman, The posts you are referring to in the "jumping ship" thread, were not sent by me but by someone able to access my account. I have not been with MM since June and the jackets belong to me, given to me as a "parting gift". I have no hard feelings about the company, I just have no use for the jackets.
  3. The logo is about 2 in. in diameter and is professionally embroidered, not a patch. It is on the right chest of the Direct X and left chest of the R2.

  6. Brand new large Direct-X parka with tags still attached. Blue/blue $225.00 Brand new large R2 fleece jacket with tags still attached. Black $95.00 Both embroidered with local guide service logo. Never worn
  7. Because he suffered "massive head injuries" chances are good that he wasn't wearing a helmet. Doubtful if I would have been wearing a helmet on that route either. Should a "hiker" be climbing the C-D route at this time of year? (or any time?) How did he end up on the mountain with no experience? Be careful who you climb with, know your limits, and don't think that turning back short of the summit makes you any less of a person. It may keep you alive.
  8. Sahale Arm makes a nice place to spend a weekend. Besides Sahale Peak, lots of places to check out.
  9. Just spoke to a friend who came down from camp at the 6000 ft. level on May 15. He reported 20-24 in. new snow at that level over the last 2 days. Winds on Monday night were 20-30, moving large amounts of new snow. Avi danger considered to be high. Trail to 5000 ft was in poor condition, with lots of postholing and moats beginning to open. The road is open to within a 1/2 mile of the trailhead.
