  1. If you want a tool with heavier swing weight, get the Quarks. Cobras are good for more delicate stuff. IMHO - you aim and start the swing with the Quarks, and they'll set themselves. Cobras need more 'follow through'. There are advantages to both, but have two different feels. I prefer Quarks in fat, plastic ice...but Cobras where you have to pay more attention to where and how hard you swing.

  2. If you're still taking suggestions on where to go, I would say head east for another few hours and get to Banff. The quality and abundance of routes there make it worth the trip...especially if you can spend a week there.

I'm going to sit behind my computer tonight with a bunch of beer and get bombed. [big Drink]

This topic was brought up last month and was thankfully put out of its misery.

  3. Doing pull-ups may only encourage poor technique, especially when ice climbing, if that's the only thing you're doing. Most of the time you're either hanging or locked off - not pulling up with your arms. You're much better off training by splitting wood, framing a house with a heavy hammer, etc, etc. You're forearms will flame out a heck of a lot faster than your back.

Hey Caveman - you need to step up to the 40 ouncers and drop the girlie weights. [big Drink][Wazzup]

  4. I don't care what anyone thinks on this site.

Shit Scott, if you said something there, you would've just been sprayed in the privacy of the Camp Muir hut. By saying something here you turned the spray dogs loose - wow...that's pretty ballsy. Good for you.
