Does any body know what descending the NE ridge of Rexford is like? Are there good rap stations and such? I want to traverse the mountain twice in a day by climbing: west face, descend NE ridge, climb SE couloir to south ridge, climb south ridge, descend west ridge.... if the NE ridge is a good descent that would be a sick trip....

It's not really a route you rap, it is more a route you downclimb.

That is a big undertaking. Try doing one east side route in a day, first.

especially as the SE couloir may be melted out by now.

Priest-Coupe seems like an obvious destination

Pleiades north couloirs if you can get in there

Baker

Shuksan

Zero Gully, maybe? If it hasn't melted out.

most of the other good snow and ice stuff will be found in Sea to Sky country. it is too dry here in the Valley.

I don't know if Zero Gully lingers all summer long. I suspect it might be discontinuous, with dirt and scree inbetween patches of ice, and probably rockfall too, under late summer conditions until the first snows start to bulk it out again. Luckily you can scope it out from the base before you commit.

how long is the approach? I was talking about it when me and Don were in Kamloops and he said that the road can be gated sometimes... He said theres a couple hours approach when the road isnt gated...

Go to Joffre, theres ice theres rock theres nice straight forward routes for someone of your abilty.

Im sure you can find a ride either through bus tours going by or even a greyhound heading North.
