climbfilmski Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I'd like to take the pole creek/hayden glacier route, is there still enough snow to warrant bringing and ice axe/crampons? Crevasse openings? Quote
bedellympian Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Haven't done it this year, but did it last year around this time with my wife. Should be fine given we had more snow this year, crevasses were not an issue. I would bring some light crampons just in case its firm in the morning, and a light axe never hurts for comfort either. If you are quite comfortable in that situation I'm sure you could run up there in tennies but since you're asking I'd suggest erring on the side of caution. Quote
