iceclimer Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 I went to Mt. Erie to do some sport climbing this weekend with 6 friends and it turned out to be much more than we could ask for. There was a blanket of high fog when we got there and it broke within minutes of us arriving at the top of Powerline wall. The sun shined on us for most of the day making the climbing comfortable in a tee shirt and light pants. We hiked out at dusk and it was getting a little chilly at that point, but overall, the weather was awesome. There are a bunch of newly bolted routes as well. They were not shown in the Washington Climbing guidebook. Quote

iceclimer Posted January 21, 2003 Author Posted January 21, 2003 That it is! Too bad I left my camera in my truck. I probably needed a photo or two to prove the sun was actually shining in January! Quote
plexus Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 There are a bunch of newly bolted routes as well. They were not shown in the Washington Climbing guidebook. That's because Dallas has been busy the past 1 1/2 years and Smoot's information on Erie is way off on a lot of stuff. Dallas Kloke is working on a new guidebook as we surff, wants to have it done by the summer. There are a bunch of new sport routes on the Main Wall as well as down in Adventure Crags - (take the main trail up from the bottom, look for the signs). Quote
