Gunkiemike Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I make these knobs for those who want to update their non-knob screws (BD Turbos, possibly other makes). $3 each + shipping. You simply epoxy them to the hanger. No, they don't fold down, but they would snap off before they would damage a rope in the event they got snagged in a fall. Available in either white plastic or knurled aluminum spinner. No functional difference - the aluminum are a touch lighter, the plastic a bit easier for me to make in quantity. Quote
sween345 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Mike, Didn't you make a device several seasons ago that was like a removable knobbed wire handle? Looked like the device on the Grivel 360. Jim Quote
Gunkiemike Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Yes, it was my DIY version of the Grivel (or maybe it was Petzl, I forget) winder. I think they called it the Turbine or something like that. It was the cat's ass for cranking in knobless Cassin and Grivel screws, and I had it on a retractor cord so it hung close against my chest. Only problem was that the thing only worked clockwise, so my seconds hated the screws. Eventually I made a counter clockwise version of it for removing the screws, but by then I was pretty much racking all knobbed screws. Quote
