The Bergschrund Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 The Bergschrund, taproom for NW Peaks Brewery in Ballard, Seattle is hosting an open mic night for climbers to share the summer's best trips, epic fails, and stellar photography. All presenters get one free beverage of their choice and the crowd favorite at the end of the night will go home with a free (filled) growler of NW Peaks beer. Kevin Klein, owner/head brewer at NW Peaks Brewery will kick off the event at 7pm with a report of the Northern Pickets traverse. The Bergschrund Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Hope to see folks at The Bergschrund in a few weeks. For those who can't make it this month we'll be opening the mic again on Dec 9th. Cheers!
Otto Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) That was a good time on Wednesday night! Thanks, Kevin, for making this happen and being a good host. There were cool slideshows of a fine-looking new route on Triumph, a wild ski route on Goode, a run around Mt. Rainier, and an expedition on Denali. Also, some mundane low-angle, low-elevation chaff from Darrington... Thanks again NW Peaks for an interesting evening! Edited October 23, 2015 by Otto
The Bergschrund Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 Thanks to all who came out last month for our inaugural Open Mic Night! Otto pretty much summed it up: a great set of trips reported. Our second Open Mic Night will be held on December 9th at the Bergschrund taproom in Ballard. We're digging out the ski gear in hopes of the return of serious snow this year, so we'd love to hear about ski tours, ice climbs, and any other winter follies. Trip reports should be between 5-15 min long with multimedia including route descriptions, photography and any other ridiculousness that gets the point across. All presenters will get a complementary NW Peaks beer. When: December 9th, 7pm Where: The Bergschrund, 4818 17th Ave NW, Seattle WA Who: open to all ages Send questions/queries/demands to alison [at] thebergschrund.com www.thebergschrund.com www.nwpeaksbrewery.com
