Hi everyone!

I'm an undergraduate about to begin research on snow algae (aka watermelon snow) on Mt Baker's glaciers. They look like red patches on the snow so they're pretty easy to spot! I'll be sampling for snow algae soon so if anyone has seen any it'd be extremely helpful to hear where you've been finding them!

There was some on the snow just west (be feet) of the trail up the railroad grade moraine. I didn't see any above that, and none on the glaciers themselves last weekend.

Not on Baker, but I saw quite a bit right at the receding edge of snowline at Punch Bowl Pass on the Whatcom Trail in EC Manning Provincial Park, around 1800 m elevation, on Saturday.
