genepires Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 my foot grew! these are now just a little too tight for my feet and would like to sell them. also posted with photos at http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/spo/4850873894.html I have this pair of Scarpa Freney full shank leather climbing boot. I have used them for ice climbing and I really like them for that. These got me away from climbing in plastic boots. there is some insulation in the boot so it is good down to about 20 degrees F for just standing around while ice climbing for me. I bought these back in 2000 or so and put about 40 days on ice climbing in them. Maybe around 40 days tromping up rainier and such in the summer. For the use, it really is holding up well which is not something typical with newer boots. Original sole. A very good all around boot that I really would not sell if my foot still fit inside. There was an issue with getting grivel crampon on my boot till I cut out some small bit of the tread that was making the crampon arms bulge outwards. the photo of the back part of the soles are there to show the small notches cut out for the rear lever arm. they have a old pair of superfeet in them. a bit packed down so you may want to replace with your own. these all leather boots are no longer made as they changed to a leather/fabric blend a review of these boots http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/product-reviews/scarpa-freney-boot-tested/629.html another review http://www.trailspace.com/gear/scarpa/freney/ Quote
