Hi All--

I've been thinking about a trip two weeks from now, hiking in on the E. Fork Foss trail #1062, then off trail over to Big Heart to go out on the West Fork Foss trail #1064. I'm a hiker/scrambler, not a climber (sorry!) and wondering about a couple of things. First, is it pretty much melted out now? A trip report I found from 7/18 shows quite a bit of snow: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/trip-reports/trip_report.2014-07-21.9701488560

Another one from last week describes it as intermittent: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/trip-reports/trip_report.2014-08-22.1988916357

Second, I'm wondering about the "key ledge" as Beckey calls it at the SE corner of Azurite Lake. Anybody have the elevation and/or GPS coords for the ledge? And of course, any other tips would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Greg

Thanks, good to know. I've been postponing waiting for more melt. Still think I'll take the GPS, can always use it to swat mosquitoes!

Enjoyed your photos from Robinson Mt. SE Ridge.

My one, and only TR.

Sorry if I seem like cranky ol'man; I just hate to see these kids and their GPSs and their fancy cell phones crowding the backcountry and acting like their some kind of reality TV stars.
