Seraphim Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Now that Hwy 20 is open I would love to do the SW colouir on SEWS. I know this climb only has a very short window (maybe a month?) Anyone been up recently? Thanks. Quote
dave schultz Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Skied it on Saturday. One section that is fun climbing (short, maybe 20 feet total) and then a scramble to the summit once your reach the top of the couloir (I stayed in crampons and used tools, partner climbed it without tools and without crampons). It should be much softer now, but we had really good firm climbing conditions on Saturday. A rope is not required, though some might want to use it in some sections. Quote
Seraphim Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 You "skiers" always make us slowshoe folks feel bad From what you are saying; I am assuming there was plenty of snow up the entire colouir? Quote
mkporwit Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) There's a TR from yesterday in the North Cascades section of the forum... Hit it soon, and hit it early in the day. It was quite soft in the afternoon, and the loose rocks are thawing out. Edited May 12, 2014 by mkporwit Quote
