G-spotter Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Are there any climbs on the overhanging crag across the highway from the Ingalls Creek Road? There's a motel or something on the road and this crag sticks out of the woods behind the motel. Many years ago (early 90s) I went there on some geologic field tour. Granite-intruded granite, no cracks, just chickenheads of all sizes. There was one flake about 15 feet off the ground with a bail sling on it then. I drove by yesterday and was reminded of this. You'd think it would be a mecca for hard Lworth sport climbing. Quote
Pete_H Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I've heard its on private land and it's called suicide rock or something like that because someone killed themselves by jumping off it so landowners don't want anyone climbing on it. That's just what I heard so don't know how true that is. Quote
telemarker Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I wonder if that plug of rock (granite?) just a few hundred yards south, sitting above the rock quarry, is also on private land. Quote
