iain Posted December 25, 2002 Posted December 25, 2002 Skinned up Helens via Swift Cr. on Monday, under clear blue skies. Forecast was for partly cloudy so this was a real treat. Good snow coverage from Marble Mt to summit. Some occasional rocks but will be buried shortly. Little cornicing on crater rim. Ski down was sortof heavy powder, but not bad at all. A little tiring after 2 days skiing on Hood, but no complaints here. Boarder companion started a small slab slide on the lee slope of a ridge. Fairly small, but there it was. Skied down to east of skin track up, via gulleys. Luge ride out to parking lot on narrow ice trail. Blue skies for 1 day, what a treat. Quote
