Zach Turner Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Trip: Dragontail - Serpentine Arete Date: 8/26/2011 Trip Report: My friend Bryson and I climbed Serpentine Arete last weekend along with a few routes up Castle including Midway/Canary/Angel Crack There was a post about a week ago warning about rockfall on the route, most of the debris we saw came from the gully next to Serpentine or straight down the Boving. The route seems to be in fine condition. We woke up early from Colchuck to be the first on route, raced up to the pillar in which we climbed 4 crux pitches that went much easier than anticipated. The rest of the route was pretty grueling, but nothing to difficult. It was fun! Gear Notes: Brought doubles of C4's and some nuts/hexes, it was a bit excessive. Approach Notes: easy Edited September 7, 2011 by Zach Turner Quote
JasonG Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks for the update, especially about the rockfall. I was interested as to what happened. And if you mean sneak bivy as in you didn't have a permit, I wouldn't advertise. The rangers do look at the site (if that is your real name)... Quote
