SLJ Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Does anyone know how much snow is up there (like around snoqualmie mountain, lundin peak, snow lake, that area)? Thanks Quote
CaleHoopes Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 You can always check Snotel... this is from Ollalie Meadows which is where the PCT is right below Catherine (south side of the freeway)... http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/nwcc/sntl-data0000.jsp?site=672&days=7&state=wa At 4k, they only have 14 inches. kevino Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 On my run two days ago I hit consistent snow around the third or fourth switchback on my way to snow lake, which was still completely covered in snow. Last week I hit consistent snow on the trail to kendal lakes around 4k before I even got to the lakes Red mtn has almost no snow, as seen from alpental rd snoqualmie mth only has snow visible near the summit. I was planning on going for a run up the pct north this evening so i'll let you know about lundin then Quote
SLJ Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 Thanks! Im just curious because im thinking about the traverse from snoqualmie to red (or kendall). Quote
kevino Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 from the pct i could see continuous snow from the end of the commonwealth basin up to the col at the base of lundin's east ridge. there was lots of snow between lundin and snoqualmie. red has little to no snow. I didn't get up to the kendal catwalk today due to rain and thunder in the distance. Quote
