Karl_S Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Any beta on conditions and approaches to Mt Stuart for a July 4 climb? Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Check Alpine Lakes forum - there are a couple recent trip reports. Quote
kevino Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Probably would help to give more info about what route you would be climbing and your approach. I ran into a couple attempting the SGC on 6/20. No snow at the junction with Colchuck lake. Quote
cam yarder Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 as of last Thursday, June 16, the Stuart Glacier 'schrund is passable via a short mixed step. The Sherpa Glacier 'schrund is just starting to open up but has a nice snow bridge over it. Approach up the creek is relatively straightforward, flotation not required. ymmv. Quote
ClimbAndSki Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) I added a trip report for our trip last weekend. Conditions were great (fyi:We did climb from the basin below sherpa, but the upper half of the route is the same) Edited June 30, 2011 by ClimbAndSki Quote
