chris54 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 A buddy of mine wants to climb three finger and check it off his list this year. So we put it on the list of up coming summer climbs. I have not been to the top in over five years and was wondering if there was a changes. When I went last all you needed was some small nuts and couple big slings. Is that shitty piton still there going through the crawl? And is there still hardware on the top? I only ask because it's a rotting pile of shit. Thanks Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 It's probably about 10 feet lower than last time you were there. There are two pitons in the crawl last time I was there (3 years ago). Check the Mazamas summer schedule and make absolutely sure they are NOT climbing it that weekend. They are a serious liability on that mountain. Quote
sweatinoutliquor Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Ya, pins are still there. Summit has changed a little in the past few years, but the climbing really hasn't (at least the sections that you would consider protecting). Seems like Mazamas or not it's a bit zooish up there, maybe try to hit it mid-week or early AM or late PM. Quote
chris54 Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 Thanks for the info. There was a line of people up there last time I went. I think I'll hike in and camp so I can get a sunrise summit. Thanks for the tip on the mazamas I was on hood with them once yikes! Quote
