Type E Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Trip: 2773' 353'P Cabin Creek 1.18.11 - Date: 1/18/2011 Trip Report: Probably not much in this report unless your a compulsive peakbagger. Even I feel like flaming myself for posting this At least I got out! http://alpinelakesaficionado.blogspot.com/2011/01/2773-353p-11811.html Quote
stevetimetravlr Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Whatever could be wrong about posting a trip report about HIKING ON A ROAD. At least you got out, or it could have been about baking cookies. Quote
swezeyt Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Nice report. It's too bad that everyone on here talks so much shit. On top of that it seems that they rarely contribute to the community in terms of trip reports. They actively criticize, but never put themselves in a position where people could criticize them for what they are doing or most likely not doing. Yes, you clearly don't climb. But at least you are getting out. I'm sure that there are lots of people who don't do that much technical climbing that get something from your reports. Quote
stevetimetravlr Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I was not criticizing, I was laughing with him. Big difference. Quote
Frankazoid Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Real sweet hike, dude. pffftt.... Just kidding!! Iv'e noticed your getting out alot. F'n rad. I think a good trip report is anything that reports Fun. or major epics too. those are good reading. Quote
johnkelley Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 swezeyt's right , lots of shit talking and that's about it. Maybe stevetimetravlr and frankazoid will post something usefull one day. Seems like their only concern is talking shit and flaming. I'd rather read about peak bagging than fixed draws anyway. Quote
stevetimetravlr Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 You seem to be talking more shit then anyone Johnboy. Quote
StanlyRoks Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Being in the woods any day is better than sitting on the couch drinking beer, eating potatoe chips and playing video games. That being said, before I started climbing, hiking was a great adventure to me. It's all relative... Quote
alpinemorg Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I haven't posted on here in I don't know how long(never really did actually), or even been visiting much, because of the merciless bullshit discussed/happening above (yes I know that most of it was tongue-in-cheek). Just wanted to say thanks to the OP for sharing what you did, and specifically your vision (i.e. the 'About Me' section of your blog). It's good to hear from another soul diving in to a relationship with a specific area of mountains. I'm a Snoqualmie Valley mountain bum who has chosen to shirk much of the state in order to revel in the alpine playground that is available here (and because gas is expensive). Drop me a line Type E if you ever want to ski some watersheds or climb some ridges. Mountains and rivers without end ~Gary Snyder~ Quote
