Lucky Larry Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) "And that," put in the Director sententiously, "that is the secret of happiness and virtue-liking what you've got to do. All conditioning aims at that: making people like their inescapable social destiny." - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Whoa. From taxes to philosophy in one thread. Is there happiness and virtue in climbing induced suffering? Is climbing an inescapable social destiny? Maybe? Suffering (the passion of) succotash, anyway. The line between enjoyment and suffering is starting to blur; might be too much of a Taboo subject. Edited November 25, 2010 by oldlarry Quote
Lucky Larry Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) fizzle, sputter.. Just to fire this smoldering turd up again I would like to put forth the idea that nobody is paying taxes; certainly not me,the unemployed. Not the rich. Is there a middle class? What is even considered middle class? $100-$200K? Now that the rape of home buyers swindle door has closed can anyone guess where the next rape is coming from? How bout the auto industry? New cars, no $ down, no interest for X months, gotta have one. Do you even need a job to get a new car loan? Anybody. Edited December 3, 2010 by oldlarry Quote
