dwrji Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) Left stuck rope in the couloir leading to Forbidden west ridge during late descent on 7/9. Climbed back up to retreive it the next morning but it was already gone. Learned from the ranger today (the 11th) that she spoke to a party that had picked up the rope on their ascent thinking that it might be useful. This explains why it was no longer there when we went looking for it, but unfortunately she also told me that they chose to leave the rope where they had found it on their way back down. It's a long, sad story, but for all I know my rope is still hanging lonely in the couloir. Please help it find its way back home. Metolius 9.2, 70M, bright green. Edited July 13, 2010 by dwrji Quote
kinnikinnick Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 fwiw: on sunday there was a fixed double rope rappel in the couloir; one of the ropes was bright green and seemed about 9.2 mm but i did not notice the brand. we figured the rappel was set up by rangers but maybe the reported climbers who picked up your rope on the ascent used it for the fixed rappel?
