Bigtree Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Has anyone been up there recently and can advise on conditions? I was thinking about having a go via Shannon Creek FSR access in 2 weeks time. Thanks. Quote
murraysovereign Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Expect snow. Anything above about 3500' around here is still well buried. Not sure about the Sky Pilot area specifically, but Elfin Lakes / Garibaldi Lake are both still under 1.5 to 2 metres. With the heat coming, things will start to melt out, but I doubt 2 weeks will be enough to get rid of all of it. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Some friends did it on Canada Day. Take ice axe. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Ya, I got the deets, summit block and west ridge are snowfree but snowline starts somewhere on upper Shannon Creek road. Quote
stever Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I went up there last month via Britiana Creek to Furry Creek FSR's. All gates are now unlocked. Takes you right to the Mountain Lake Hut Trail trail head then to the hut below Sheer and Sky Pilot. Quote
