Dru Posted July 27, 2001 Posted July 27, 2001 Erik, caveman, I can't believe I went to all this trouble and you didn't even pick up the bags!! $450,000 in cash and million in drugs seized at Canada-U.S. border SEATTLE (AP) - Millions of dollars worth of the party drug Ecstasy, more than $450,000 in cash and about $200,000 worth of marijuana have been seized in two separate incidents on the Canadian border, officials said. One man was being held in the discovery of the cash. Authorities were seeking those responsible for the drugs. Border Patrol agents stumbled onto two hockey bags Wednesday night during a routine patrol along a trail near Sumas, a border town just south of Abbotsford, B.C., said John Bates, assistant chief of the agency's office in Blaine. The haul amounted to 30 kilograms of potent "B.C. Bud" marijuana with a street value of about $1,350 and about seven kilograms of Ecstasy divided into as many as 90,000 pills. "It's a good pop for us," Bates said. Ecstasy, which combines the effects of a hallucinogen and amphetamines, costs as much as $40 to $50 a pill in Seattle, which would make the amount seized at Sumas worth $3.6 million to $4.5 million, Drug Enforcement Administration agents said. Bates said he did not know whether drug smugglers had been scared away by the patrol or had left the bags to be picked up by accomplices or buyers. Quote
erik Posted July 27, 2001 Posted July 27, 2001 drul, i retired from the doing bad things bidness back in third grade after my pixie stick ring got broke up by the recesss duty. i lost almost $.75 in goods to the 'man'. changed my life forever, though i did have a nice run with glue balls in early 5th grade, until budget cuts within the school dist. limited each class to 3 bottles each. though it taught me a good lesson with supply and demand!
