MJaso Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Weather is not looking good... Anyone have any advice on an alternative plan? (yeah I cut and pasted that from Rainier in May). I'm on vaca this week and was planning on heading out to Stuart, but the weahter forecast is looking rather crappy for this week for everywhere within 100+ miles of PDX. The NOAA site is predicting the snow level rising to 7400' with a 70% chance of precip, sounds like a suck fest as I am planning on doing an exploratory trip. Perhaps that should wait..... Quote
ARob Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I am toying with the idea of heading out the Wallowas and do some backcountry skiing. I have never been out there before, but I know the climate is drier and is colder this time of year than out west here. But the weather still does not look that great with possible T Storms on Wed., so I am keeping my eye on NOAA as well, hoping a window develops over the weekend. The mild day they were calling for yesterday on Hood never showed up though, it was actually nicer on Sat. I still have windburn from being up there yesterday. Let me know if you are interested in heading to the Wallowas this coming weekend though (Thurs eve. thru Sun). Quote
MJaso Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the invite, but my window was Tues-Fri. I think I might just do a one day up St Helens or to Muir on Thursday if I get a semi good weather forecast. Otherwise, I'm goin to check out 180 south downtown PDX tonight to keep the stoke up. The weatherman psyched me out! Edited May 26, 2010 by MJaso Quote
