stever Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 How long is the ice and alpine ice routes in good condition for the coastal mountains and ice climbing areas in the spring? I will be in Squamish for a while and would like to do some ice climbing before it all melts out (unless it already has? not familiar with the ice in this area) I am looking at early May to end of June... G-spotter Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I doubt you can find any ice now because it will all be buried under the meter plus of fresh unstable snow. If we have a couple of weeks with clear warm days and cold nights we may see some alpine ice form up but mostly I would expect steep snow rather than water ice Quote
