stever
How long is the ice and alpine ice routes in good condition for the coastal mountains and ice climbing areas in the spring? I will be in Squamish for a while and would like to do some ice climbing before it all melts out (unless it already has? not familiar with the ice in this area) I am looking at early May to end of June... G-spotter
I doubt you can find any ice now because it will all be buried under the meter plus of fresh unstable snow. If we have a couple of weeks with clear warm days and cold nights we may see some alpine ice form up but mostly I would expect steep snow rather than water ice
