Icescrewhold Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Weather pending of course... DC route... Totally dependent of weather/route conditions. Quote
Josh Lewis Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I hear the conditions for Hood are best in the spring, is late fall safe for doing Mount Hood? I hear there's plenty of rock fall hazard. Quote
stevetimetravlr Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Hood isn't real safe unless the mountain is frozen in in Fall, its one giant choss pile that sheds mortar rounds. Another problem might be the water ice on the descent thru the Pearly Gates. Waiting till the Spring is a option, or at least until it gets a couple feet of snow and has gone thru some freeze/thaw cycles this Fall/winter. Quote
Ryan Canfield Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 i'm down. how many days and what would be the locations that you'd camp at? I've done the DC route 2 times this year. Keep me posted for sure. -Ryan Quote

DetachedFlake Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Also interested. Have been up Lib Ridge, but not DC. The more the merrier for breaking trail, right? lewis lbrwhat@yahoo.com Quote
