msh -- need helmet?

I see helmet on some gear lists for the MSH climb, but not all. Do I need one for an August climb? Everything else folks list is clear and consistent.

I have never wore a helmet on MSH. While there is plenty of loose rock, it's not really steep enough for run aways.
