Trip Report:

I know Si is pedestrian for these here forums, but thought the conditions might be of interest to some. Today I went out hoping to beat the forecast 4pm blizzard. I arrived at 9:30, hiked up and reached the summit plateau probably around 11:30. The Haystack had some nice snow in the back gullies, though I went through some post-holing to get there. In some areas the snow was pretty powdery but a bit of dry-tooling got me to the top. Great views all around, though hazier as the day went on. Back down and out before the snow hit Seattle.

I did that a few winters back with 2 alipne ax's and wearing 'pons - scared the shit out of me
