  1. Selling Garmont G-Ride backcountry AT boots. Shell size 29-30. They fit me well and I typically wear 12-13 mens shoes. Thermo-moldable liner that can be re-molded to your feet. Compatible with most non-Dynafit bindings. These worked great for skinning, booting long lines, and skiing down. Got new boots this year so am selling these. You can pick up in downtown Seattle during the workday, or Wallingford otherwise.
  2. Amazing shots! Do you think the larches will be still be gold this coming weekend?
  3. how was it? we're thinking about going up this weekend.
  4. can the crampons be set up for dual point with the hardware you have? also, would they be good for glacier travel or mainly for ice climbing?
  5. Trip: [TR] Mt Si - Haystack Date: 12/20/2008 Trip Report: I know Si is pedestrian for these here forums, but thought the conditions might be of interest to some. Today I went out hoping to beat the forecast 4pm blizzard. I arrived at 9:30, hiked up and reached the summit plateau probably around 11:30. The Haystack had some nice snow in the back gullies, though I went through some post-holing to get there. In some areas the snow was pretty powdery but a bit of dry-tooling got me to the top. Great views all around, though hazier as the day went on. Back down and out before the snow hit Seattle. Haystack back: Gully snow: From N Bend: Gear Notes: Axe and helmet. Approach Notes: The trail has nice boot pack.
  6. folks went up in december, though the conditions were less wintry: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/855352/TR_Ingalls_Peak_South_Ridge_12#Post855352
  7. well darn it all i guess all the snow melted since november.... we went up there a month ago and had quite the winter conditions -- rock was totally iced over. id have given a lot for the great looking rock you had! nice climb. november snow : TR: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=850714
  8. Trip: Ingalls Peaks - South Ridge of North Peak (attempt) Date: 11/10/2008 Trip Report: I and friend Ben attempted the South Ridge of Ingalls North Peak. Roads were in great shape -- 2.5 hr from Seattle. The trail was in great shape too, all the way to Ingalls Lake. From there, the talus field was covered in deep drifts of snow, leading to a much longer postholing trip up to the saddle. We ran out of time (I had to be back for work, bummer). But we scoped the route on the ridge. The rock was covered in super slippery ice and a bit of snow, but it would have been doable with more time. Gear Notes: Would recommend crampons for the rock route. Perhaps a light axe as well.
  9. Trip: Mt Adams - North Ridge (attempt) Date: 11/9/2008 Trip Report: Quick report -- I and friend Ben attempted the North Ridge on Adams. We got to the trailhead 11/8 night, hiked out early 11/9 morning. Trail was good though it was raining. Rain turned to snow around High Camp (6900'). Visibility went way down. We hiked up along the snowfields and eventually caught a glimpse of the North Ridge, but visibility was so poor and chance of further weather deterioration was high, so we turned around. We should have listened to the forecast... Gear Notes: Didnt end up using crampons and axes, since we didn't get on the ridge. Approach Notes: Roads were in perfect condition. Killen Creek Trail was in great shape.
