turn_one Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 The annual mancation landed us at Steamboat this year (Jan 25), having never been there I had a couple of questions for those who have: 1. At $91 F*&^ing a lift ticket I'm afraid I'll do more drinking than boarding; does anyone have a line a discount tickets, maybe like a CO pass for multiple resorts (I'll be there for 1 week) and if no, preferred discounted watering holes? 2. Should I bring the ice tools for a reprieve from the skiing and murderous lift prices. (Would be going solo, WI3 or easier, no car, staying on the mountain). Thanks all. Quote
AlpineK Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 $91/day is up there, at least to me, but CO has always had some high lift prices. I should look up a day pass at Telluride. I don't have any answers to your questions. All I can say is Steamboat has nice tree skiing, but not much in the way of extreme anything. Quote
turn_one Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 All I can say is Steamboat has nice tree skiing, but not much in the way of extreme anything. Pisser...one resorts blacks are others greens it seems. WA black runs seem to be bit more steep than any other place I've been. Quote
eldiente Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Yeah the tress at Steamboat can be epic on a good day, but aside from there isn't much else going on. Maybe not crazy steep, but unlike most NW resorts, there is some serious vert to be had. Quote
AlpineK Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Talk your group into Telluride. It's 92/day. Expensive, but at least there is some rad skiing. Of course if you want a ski area with none of the resort fuck fuck then A Basin is the place to go. Good terrain and lower prices. Quote
