jay_jay
Anybody interested in doing a long alpine route or two in East Africa in early 2009? When: February or March 2009... could even do January Where: East Africa - Kenya and Tanzania Peaks: Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro Routes: There are numerous legit climbing routes on both - especially Mt. Kenya. I can reliably lead 5.9, WI4 and am open to dropping or bumping up a grade. While the classic ice routes (e.g., Diamond Couloir and Ice Window on Kenya) have suffered from global warming, there's still plenty of snow and ice out there to complement pitches of quality rock. I've got a couple of guide books for research purposes. My climbing background: Alaska Ruth Glacier, Cordillera Blanca, French Alps, Sierras, Cascades, and more... photos at http://flickr.com/photos/jjkuo/collections/72157603826942110/ and http://www.kuophotos.com/photoalbum/viewuser.jsp?user=jason
