  1. Anybody interested in doing a long alpine route or two in East Africa in early 2009? When: February or March 2009... could even do January Where: East Africa - Kenya and Tanzania Peaks: Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro Routes: There are numerous legit climbing routes on both - especially Mt. Kenya. I can reliably lead 5.9, WI4 and am open to dropping or bumping up a grade. While the classic ice routes (e.g., Diamond Couloir and Ice Window on Kenya) have suffered from global warming, there's still plenty of snow and ice out there to complement pitches of quality rock. I've got a couple of guide books for research purposes. My climbing background: Alaska Ruth Glacier, Cordillera Blanca, French Alps, Sierras, Cascades, and more... photos at http://flickr.com/photos/jjkuo/collections/72157603826942110/ and http://www.kuophotos.com/photoalbum/viewuser.jsp?user=jason
  2. Partner wanted for day trip ski up to Camp Muir and/or beyond. Or other day trip from Seattle. Could do shorter easy day or longer sunrise start. Alternatively, could do something like Baker/Shuksan if you drive and leave me in Belingham. Please call me directly at 408.623.5564. Bay Area guy making my way up to BC - more on me at http://www.kuophotos.com/photoalbum/viewuser.jsp?user=jason Thanks, J
  3. Dynafit Bindings: TLT Comfort or Speed Scarpa F1: size 29 or 29.5 Garmont Mega Ride: size 29.5
  4. I'm making a July 4th attempt. Please send beta if ya got it. I'll send a quick TR when back.
  5. Please contact me at jasonjkuo@yahoo.com Much appreciated, Jason
  6. I'm actively looking for a Peru / Cordillera Blanca partner for Summer 2005. If curious, hit me up directly at jasonjkuo@yahoo.com I've climbed alpine through the ADs, lead 5.9 trad, with the majority of my experience here in N. Ameirca - BC, Cascades, and Sierras... and a bit in the French Alps. Mountains of interest: Alpamayo, Toclliaraju, Quitaraju, Huascaran (sp?). I'm appropriately concerned about avy exposure, and am willing to consider non-traditional routes. Timing: Ideally for four to six weeks over the Summer. Guide: Open to a climbing guide, but not a deal breaker. Thanks, Jason
  7. Looking for one or more partners for alpine climbing in SW BC over the July 31st and/or Aug 7th weekend. Potential climbs include Sleese, Rexford, Sky Pilot, Wedge, and others along the 99 and 1 corridor. Ideal routes would be at AD / mid 5th YDS rating... although I'm happy to bump up or down as needed. Email me at jasonjkuo@yahoo.com or call me at 408.623.5564.
