Lmclady Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hey all, my friend and I are new to climbing this year. I have taken some courses and been out to smith rock a few times. We are heading out to Leavenworth this weekend for a camping trip and thought we may as well try to get some climbing in. However I am not comfortable leading as this is really my first year, and neither is she. I think that it would be a total waste to go up to Leavenworth and not be able to climb though. Anyone interested in taking out some newbies? Please let me know ! Thanks a bunch Lisa Quote
selkirk Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 There's also some good top-robable climbs that wouldn't require leading Take a look at Clamshell Cave, or some of the other single pitch things up the icicle Quote
tradhead Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Playground point has a bunch of moderates that you can TR according to the guidebook. It's supposed to be a pretty nice picnic spot as well. Quote
dmuja Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 bruces boulder is a beginners area with large steel anchors on top (walk up). If you learn to build safe anchors with gear it will open up a lot of stuff to top rope in the canyon- 'coarse you'll probly be leading by then.. Quote
