cheamclimber Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 When my friend was 11 or 12 him, his Dad and his sister climbed a long scree bash route up the right hand side of Cheam's NW flank. When they reached the spur ridge to the right of the face they turned left again and scrambled up some class 3/4 rock to the west ridge. This was 6 or 7 years ago and I was wondering if this was possibly the first recorded ascent od this side of the mountain? Their route was something like this original photo link [ Quote
G-spotter Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Nope, the FA of the west side of Cheam was in the 80s. Quote
cheamclimber Posted January 1, 2008 Author Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) But that line took the big couloir way on the right... I mean was this the first climb up from the NW Bowl/Angel Edited January 1, 2008 by cheamclimber Quote
Don_Serl Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 cc, i might give that a 'first recorded ascent'. but, gosh, what a bash to get to a scramble, eh? and no telling what might have happened 50 yrs ago or more... cheers, Quote
cheamclimber Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 It is awful in the summer but I think it would make a fun line in the spring time. Quote
