Nick Masson Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Hey all, I'm looking to get a pair of warm boots (up to 6000m) that will fit my fat hobbit feet. More importantly, though, i'd like a pair that climbs well technically. Has anybody with wide feet tried the ice 9000s and mind commenting on their fit? Right now I have a pair of sportiva's trango extreme evos as my low altitude/warmer weather technical boots, but I still freeze and squeeze my feet because my feet are wide (at the ball section of my feet, kind of a triangular shape almost) and I always have to wear thin socks. (I know la sportiva makes some of the narrowest shoes, but the price was right. Stupid decision since boots are one of the main things where you shouldn't skimp on money-wise). Anybody have any suggestions for a wide and warm boot? Quote
Ade Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I have a pair. There's a review here. http://www.ademiller.com/blogs/climbing/2006/01/review-vasque-ice-9000-double-boot.html I have large wideish feet. Quote
96avs01 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Sounds like we have a similar foot type. I have been very happy with my 9000s. My only complaint is that they tend to be hard on laces, so be sure to carry a spare or some 2mm cord. Quote
Doug_Hutchinson Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Anyone know any shops in the PNW that stock this boot? Quote
Brewer Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Marmot Mountain Works in Bellevue, WA carries some. VERY few sizes left as they are discontinued, but if you have huge or tiny feet you can get them on sale! Quote
