pindude Posted May 4, 2008 Share Posted May 4, 2008 Today is Erden's 300th day at sea, and in 5 more he'll break the record for longest solo rowing ocean voyage. As Wayne said, he's now planning to head toward the Phillipines, but that's still more than 1,000 nm away--at least another month and possibly up to two. With the strange convergence zones and doldrums around the equator, Erden's still just north of zero degrees latitude. To get to the Phillipines, he needs to bear west and a little north. Most recently he's actually headed closer to the equator and is about as far south as he's been. With the extra number of days at sea, Erden will be resupplied soon. Of concerns are storms, hidden atolls, and ships in the shipping lane he's now in.
