Anybody going to Monitor ridge today [sunday].

 

I am planning a hike on Monday, any parking and trail info would be helpfull.

 

Does not look like much snow above six thousand from my home.

this is after the fact, but all relevent trail (i.e. elevation gain, where to park, how to get there, if you need a permit) info is on the web. Think you answered your own question by look at the Mnt from your home. Not much snow.

 

SO how was it?

I did monitor ridge last Sunday (11/4). I left the climbers bouvwak at 6:45am, good conditions, a bit windy and snow on about 50% of the trail. The summit was socked in when I topped out but it cleared around 11:30am and I got some sweet views of the surrounding peaks. Really a great day to be out hiking so late in the year. It is free but you still need to register at Jacks restaurant and pick up a permit there.
