techboy Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Is there a gps tracking unit that has been tested on Mount Hood? I was considering the S-911 , but it uses GPRS - I have a T-Mobile Razr w/ quad band gprs and it sucks the Big Beaulah on Mount Hood - at least voice is not so good. I think I sent a text msg once and it went though, while voice did not! Basically its for my wife's peace of mind, so she knows where I am when I'm out climbing. Thanks! Quote
catbirdseat Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 She'll know if you are climbing or if you are doing something other than climbing. One day you'll get a call from her, "honey, why have you been in that motel for the past three hours?" Quote
Frikadeller Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Have you looked into this? http://www.globalcomsatphone.com/spot/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PPC There was a thread about I started in the gear section a while back. Quote
